Nick LeDonne | STORYTELLER - ANIMATOR
Self described as "the happiest person to talk about depression," LeDonne is an animator and mental health advocate. His award-winning short films "Hanging" and "Dear Dad" have been screened internationally in 30 countries winning accolades such as "Best Animated Short"at the Catalina Island Film Festival and official selection at Animation Day in Cannes. His films pull from personal life stories which earned additional exhibitions at the Canadian Mental Health Association's MH4A National Conference and the 26th European Congress of Psychiatry in Nice, France. LeDonne combines his passion of art and health through his keynote program, "From Hanging to Hang ON." As a speaker, he has given inspiring presentations internationally to students, teachers, government officials, and the scientific community to address life-saving topics on suicide prevention.
Outside of his independent films, LeDonne has an active career in the digital media industry currently based in Los Angeles. Previously he was an animator at Nickelodeon Animation Studios in NYC working on the CGI reboot of Blue’s Clues and You. Prior to that he was a professor at the Pennsylvania College of Art & Design where he supported curricular development of PCA&D's new Digital Media program. Outside of animation, LeDonne has painted 4 large-scale murals in his home community of South Jersey, loves fitness losing over 100 pounds, and routinely mentions that he doesn't have any hair.

"When I went through my own hardships I wanted to make sure I was brought down for a reason, and that reason became to pick others up" says LeDonne. "I'm hoping to be an example to youth that no matter how dark life gets for you, you can always find a better ending to your story when you Hang ON to tell it."
